[ARCHIVED] 3/30 COVID-19 Update

3-30-COVID-19 Update

As we enter the third week of the COVID-19 restrictions, the City of Windsor Heights would like to thank our community for their ability to adapt and overcome the inconveniences of this environment.  We understand the stress and angst the COVID-19 situation has brought into everyone’s life.  We encourage you to continue to take care of yourselves, your family, and we want everyone to stay healthy.  Social isolation, washing your hands, and reducing exposure to others are great first steps to take in preventing the spread of this virus.

We also want to remind you to NEVER give personal information over the phone.  This weekend, a scam was going around the metro related to someone calling and indicating they were from the Federal Government.  The caller said they needed personal information (social security numbers, bank information) to get Federal COVID-19 stimulus checks sent out.  Calls like these are a scam and please do not share any personal information over the phone.

Also, the Polk County Health Department will be holding two more town hall style televised meetings this week.  On Wednesday, April 1st from 7 pm to 8 pm, there will be a televised town hall style meeting on channel 13 about overall health related to the COVID-19 virus.  On Thursday, April 2nd from 7 pm to 8 pm, there will be a televised town hall style meeting on channel 5 related to mental health in light of the COVID-19 virus.

Please continue to follow us on social media channels for updated information.
