Mike Jones was elected to his first term on the Windsor Heights City Council in 2018. He has been involved in politics since high school and is interested in political issues that affect us at the city, state, and national level.
Mike was born in Des Moines and graduated from Johnston High School. After high school, he attended DMACC, where he earned his Associate of Arts. He attended the University of Iowa where he graduated with Bachelors of Arts in English and Political Science. Following that, he returned home to attend Drake University Law School where he graduated with a Juris Doctor in 2011.
Mike’s priorities are promoting greater fiscal responsibility in the city government, stressing continuing infrastructure improvements on a yearly basis and encouraging economic growth in a landlocked city. More specifically, Mike’s goals are to see a road or sewer improvement every/every other year and a new economic development project every year. Mike would like to see Windsor Heights as the most sought out community in the metro with affordable housing and destination businesses.
