Council Member Carole Tillotson

Carole Tillotson is the Assistant Director of Career Development at Drake University Law School. She is also an experienced bond attorney, having spent 7 years with the Ahlers Cooney, P.C. law firm. Carole's cultural and community activities keep her in touch with issues affecting many organizations and citizens. Current activities include Metro Waste Authority, Des Moines Founders Garden Club and Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation. Past affiliations include the Civic Music Association, Des Moines Symphony Ambassadors, Metro Arts Alliance, United Nations Association, and the West Des Moines Community Schools Foundation. Carole has earned several honors, being recognized in the Forty Under 40 class of 2001; graduating from the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute in 1999; and being selected as a 1997 "Iowa Up and Comer" by the Des Moines Register. Council Member Tillotson is also a graduate of the Leadership Iowa program. Carole serves on the Community Development and Public Works Committees of the Council. Among her other contributions, Carole's expertise in landscaping is a major benefit to the City in its beautification efforts.
