Council Member Flo Hunter
Florence Hunter was the first female member of the Windsor Heights Lions Club and its first female President. She was one of the first female fire fighters on the Windsor Heights Fire department and has spent more than 20,000 hours serving our community and its residents. In 1994, Flo attended Clown College at the University of Wisconsin and became a professional clown. Her motivation was to find a fun and interactive way to teach children about fire safety, which she does frequently as “Siren T Clown.” Flo also dons other costumes for events. She has been the “Easter Bunny” at the annual Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the Fire Fighters Association.
Flo serves on many committees and boards throughout the community. She remains a member of the Lions Club and was President in 1996/97 and served on the Executive Committee from 1994/95 through 1997/98. She was one of the founders for the City’s 4th of July Parade, which has now evolved into the Special Events Committee, which organizes 4th of July activities, including the parade; the Fall Festival; and Windsor Wonderland events.
