The mission of the Windsor Heights Fire Department is to improve the quality of life and safety of our citizens by providing the highest level of services through, Fire Prevention, Community Risk Reduction, Emergency Response, and Training.
This service area is responsible for the following items:
Developing standard operating procedures compliant with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards as well as Iowa standards in order to provide the safest environment possible for our employees and volunteers and to provide the best service possible to our citizens
Overseeing overall operation of the department
Preparing and administering the department's budget
In cooperation with Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) and the DMACC Fire Science Program, this consortium allows an efficient and effective method for candidates to become eligible for hire in the group of metro Fire Departments.
