  • Windsor Heights July 4th activities! This year will feature the Bill Riley Talent Search on July 4th and will include a parade, inflatables rides, games, live music and the metro's best fireworks, all at Colby Park.   • The July 6th Windsor Heights Council Meeting has been cancelled. 

  • Movies in the Park  The next Movies in the Park will be Friday, July 10th at Colby Park (6900 School Street) and will start once the sun goes down.  The movie for this week will be Get Smart. 













  • Music in the Park, schedule for the summer of 2009.

  • Windsor Heights Community Center and Shelter house update. The Windsor Heights shelter house at Colby Park has now been torn down and is unavailable for rent. The city is currently in the process of building a new community. Prostruct Construction from WDM has been awarded the contract and are expected to finish the new Community Center by July of 2010.   • Self-Defense Course Offered for Women The Windsor Heights Police Department is currently gathering contact information for area residents who may be interested in participating in a women’s education and self defense course called Rape Aggression Defense. Click here for more information.

  • Windsor Heights Streetscaping RFQ. The City of Windsor Heights is currently collecting qualifications for the development of a streetscaping plan for Windsor Heights along Hickman Road. Click here for more information.

  • Single Stream Recycling: Metro Waste Authority communities will soon benefit from residential, curbside single-stream recycling. The agreements for this program has been approved by the MWA Board. You can find out when your new cubside container will be delivered by clicking this link.

  • Having problems paying your home mortgage?  The State of Iowa has set up a program to help those in need. Click on the link to learn more.

  • Fresh Veggies needed! The Urbandale-Windsor Heights Food Pantry is asking for your help in providing fresh, nutritious produce to our clients this summer. As you plan your garden this spring, please consider planting a little extra and donating your surplus fruits and veggies to the food pantry.

  • ICE Your Cell Phone (In Case of Emergency) It could save your life and notify loved ones! Your cell phone can help emergency responders and healthcare workers to identify you and notify your loved ones.

  • Polk County Emergency Management Community Notification Enrollment.  The emergency management commission has created a sign up form that you can utilize to  sign up to receive notifications when emergencies happen

  • Windsor Heights Comprehensive Plan updating Vision 2020 process. Windsor Heights is in the process of updating our Comprehensive Plan and the city is collecting public input. If you would like to share your vision of Windsor Heights, please fill out our online form to share your vision.

  • Interested in recieving email updates from Windsor Heights? The city periodically will send out emails to update citizens in regards to special events and council meeting agendas. Please email Josh Heggen to be added to this list.

  • Windsor Heights Zip Code. The City of Windsor Heights is thrilled to announce 50324 will be the City’s new zip code effective July 1st, 2009. The results of the Community Survey Recently conducted by the United States Post Office regarding a unique zip code are in and the Community approved the change from multiple zip codes to the zip code of “50324” for the entire community.
